UNIT OF ASSESSMENT 40 - Social Work and Social Policy and Administration
Project Outline
The Application of Significant Harm Thresholds for Intervention
Applications should be no more than 2000 words.
Previous research on the Consistency of the Application of Significant Harm Thresholds for Intervention has established that the UNOCINI tool of assessment of children’s’ needs was being used to determine the level of service offered by Family Intervention Teams. The research was conducted in one HSCT and used a mixed methods approach involving focus groups, semi structured interviews, case file analysis and quantitative analysis of referrals to the Gateway team. This proposal would seek to extend the research to other HSCT’S in Northern Ireland with a view to gaining a comprehensive picture of current service delivery, determining the consistency of the application of significant harm thresholds and the challenges involved in the use of the UNOCINI tool .
