Project Outline

Public Law: Women in post conflict societies: time for domestic violence survivors in Northern Ireland to reap the peace dividend?

This project deals with the practicability of protecting domestic violence survivors from anticipated future violence by altering the operation of a scheme originally designed to protect persons considered to be under threat from paramilitaries. It explores the practicability of redesigning the existing protective scheme so that a similar scheme for protecting domestic violence survivors can be produced. A t a theoretical level the focus in on the development of rights-based arguments to the development and delivery of social service policy with a view to restructuring ort reordering legal orthodoxies.
