Masculinity and transition

My research examines how the issue if masculinity is dealt with in post-conflict societies. As such I would be content to undertake PhD supervision for projects researching in this area, which could include examinations of: 

• The issue of masculinity and how it is understood in transition, shapes peace processes and affects how we develop transitional justice mechanisms.

• The relationship between masculinity as a concept and how former combatants see and understand their role in conflict and peacebuilding.

• The role of projects and initiatives aimed at dealing with violent masculinities in transition processes.

I would welcome enquiries from those planning research in a comparative or international vein, or locally on Northern Ireland. It is expected that applications will be in the region of 2,000 words.
