Project Area 3:
Key issues in Organisational Communication, Advertising or Public Relations
Doctoral project supervision is available to investigate a range of issues in the areas of internal organisational communication, advertising or public relations. Prospective students are invited to contact one of the named supervisors to discuss the proposed focus of the study:
Internal Communication – measuring and monitoring effective communication; change management, uncertainty and communication; inter-organisational communication; crisis management and decision-making in organisations; employee engagement; inter-cultural communication in the workplace Prof. Owen Hargie Dr Valerie Purchase Dr Mairead McCoy
Advertising – the creative process in advertising; the relationship between advertising agencies and their clients; effective advertising in a not-for-profit context; and digital media advertising Dr Aodheen O’Donnell
Public Relations -the intersection of politics, public relations (PR) and the media; the development of government communications in transitional states; transnational advocacy networks and human rights lobbying; voluntary sector lobbying in Northern Ireland. Dr Ian Somerville Dr Mairead McCoy
Applicants must submit a project proposal of around 2000 words with their application.
