Professor Owen Hargie Is a Professor of Communication, and a member of the Psychology Research Institute, at the University of Ulster. Is also Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and Associate Professor at the University of Chester. Graduated with joint honours in psychology and philosophy from Queen’s University, Belfast, followed by a post-graduate teaching qualification from the same institution. He then obtained his PhD at Jordanstown. He taught in further education before joining University of Ulster, where his posts of responsibility have included Head of the Department of Communication and Research Co-ordinator for Communication. In 2004, he was elected to Membership of the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters (RNSSL) . Foreign citizens who are considered for membership of the RNSSL must be acknowledged international leaders in their field. The society is restricted to a total membership of 400. The Humanities section (including social sciences) to which he was elected is restricted to 165 members |
